The mBoss XCDR supports a billing mediation platform used for collecting and pre-processing CDR file for billing purposes. Located at the rating engine layer of the mBOSS, the Prepaid Service Center (PSC) is the sub-component that is responsible for Call Detail Record (CDR) collection, storing, billing, and call control functions.
Network-wise, the PSC/XCDR supports both local and centralized BOSS systems. In different networking applications, the PSC/XCR might take the following roles:
• CDR collector
• CDR collector and CDR pricing center
• CDR collector which will forward CDRs to a third- party pricing center

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS
