All-Optical POL for Campus Network(F5G)
POL (Passive Optical LAN) is the abbreviation of PON technology applied in campus network. The traditional campus network is mainly based on the application of switches. The all-optical POL for Campus Network solution based on PON technology, leveraging the inherent advantages of optical fiber transmission, has built an "all-optical link" from the core computer room to end-users, becoming an ideal choice for campus network upgrades. The deployment mode of the all-optical campus network achieves 100% passive optical network coverage from the access layer to the aggregation layer. Its core architecture is based on the point-to-multipoint (P2MP) topology of PON technology. Through optical splitters, it realizes efficient multiplexing of optical fiber resources, significantly reducing the large number of active access devices that exist in traditional networks. This feature not only reduces device energy consumption (saving more than 30% compared with traditional solutions) but also eliminates the hidden danger of electromagnetic interference, making the network operation more stable and reliable.​ In terms of all-optical details, the solution supports smooth upgrading from GPON to 10GPON, easily carrying new services such as 4K/8K video conferences, VR campus navigation. The network edge uses optical network units (ONUs) to directly connect to terminals, and ONU devices support PoE power supply function, which can directly power terminals such as IP phones and cameras.
Architecture

Genew’s all-optical campus network solution, with GPON/10GPON series box and chassis OLTs as core devices, builds an end-to-end all-optical transmission channel. OLT devices are deployed in the campus computer room, connected to the optical distribution boxes of each building through trunk optical fibers, then extended to floor ONUs through branch optical fibers, and finally realize the all-optical link connection from "computer room - building - terminal". At the same time, the solution is equipped with a visual unified network management system, which can centrally monitor and manage OLTs, ONUs, optical splitters and other devices in the all-optical network, making the operation and maintenance of the all-optical network more efficient and intelligent, and providing seamless bearing of integrated services such as voice, data, video, and security monitoring for the campus.
