Core Network LTE Evolved Packet Core (EPC/ECN)

Evolved Packet Core (EPC) is a framework for providing converged voice and data on a 4G Long-Term Evolution (LTE) network. 2G and 3G network architectures process and switch voice and data through two separate sub-domains: circuit-switched (CS) for voice and packet-switched (PS) for data. Evolved Packet Core unifies voice and data on an Internet Protocol (IP) service architecture and voice is treated as just another IP application. This allows operators to deploy and operate one packet network for 2G, 3G, WLAN, WiMax, LTE and fixed access (Ethernet, DSL, cable and fiber).

Overview - Genew EPC / ECN:

ECN10000 is the core equipment of packet domain of Telecom 4G core network launched by Genew. Based on the basic development of high-performance platform, ECN10000 improves the system processing efficiency and equipment integration, provides rich services and functions, supports hot redundancy backup. System has perfect abnormal protection and overload control functions, and has large capacity, high integration, high stability, reliability, easy operation and maintenance, expansibility, etc.

ECN10000 can not only be based on standard ATCA architecture, but also on general server deployment. ECN10000 adopts operator level high reliability design, supports hardware redundancy, software and hardware dual host and standby, and site level remote disaster recovery design, which can guarantee business continuity. In addition, ECN10000 can also be deployed on the cloud and run in the way of cloud EPC.

ECN10000 can not only combine MME(integrated MME / HSS / PCRF) +UGW(integrated SGW / PGW) to networking, but also can support the external HSS and PCRF outside by the operator. Each MME can support the access of 16 UGWs. MME supports 1+1 primary and standby redundancy, and UGW supports N+1 load sharing.
